FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is a chiropractic adjustment?
Chiropractic adjustments usually involve a quick thrust that helps to add motion to spinal joints that aren't moving right. Some methods use the doctor's hands, an instrument, a special table, or the force of gravity. There are many ways to adjust the spine.

When I get adjusted, will it hurt?
There is typically little to no pain associated with any adjustment. Most of our patients feel a relief from pain they were experiencing prior to the adjustment.

How Does Chiropractic Work?
Chiropractic works because you are a self-healing, self-regulating organism controlled by your nervous system. Millions of instructions flow from your brain, down the spinal cord and out to every organ and tissue. Signals sent back to the brain confirm if your body is working right.

Specific spinal adjustments can help improve mind/body communications. Health often returns with improved nervous system control of the body.

Will I have to keep coming back for life?
We will taylor a program to fit your needs and bring you back to an optimum level of health. After that, some patients prefer to have periodic maintenence in the same way that they'd visit the dentist or doctor for care or treatment.

Can I have chiropractic care after back surgery?
Yes, rest assured that your chiropractic doctor will avoid the surgically modified areas of your spine. Surgery often causes instability in the areas above or below the surgery. These are the areas your doctor will focus on.

What types of insurance do you take?
We take most types of medical insurance. Call our office or schedule a consultation and we'll work with you. We find that the vast majority of patients have some level of coverage from their insurance.
